Needless to say, COVID-19 is deadly and it is highly infectious. Though we have recently seen lockdown 5 and people around us behaving as if the pandemic is over, the deadly virus is still very much here. Not wearing a mask, not maintaining proper hygiene, and not maintaining social distancing can expose you to the novel coronavirus infection.
Therefore, here we tell you a few things that you must keep in mind if you are a caregiver to a COVID-19 positive patient or are a covid 19
Patient yourself :
For mild to moderate patients
Medicines you should be taking and the dosage of it.
- Tab Azithral 500 mg – it is a type of an antibiotic and should be taken once after you take your lunch for 7 days
- Tab Ivermectin 12 mg – it is an anti parasitic drug and should be taken once after dinner
- Tab Zincovit – this is a multivitamin tablet and only one tablet should be taken after breakfast only for 3 days.
- Tab Celin 500 – its a vitamin tablet, and can be taken once after breakfast for 14 days straight.
- Tab pan 40 – its an acidity related tablet, and should be taken only 7 days in an empty stomach.
- Cap Lumia 60K – it’s a vitamin d capsule, should be taken for 4 days 1 capsule daily.
- Tab Monket LC – its a tablet for alergy and should be taken for 5 days, 1 tablet after dinner.
- Dolo 650 (paracetamol) – 1 tablet after breakfast only if you/they have fever.
- Betadin Gargle – thrice a day
- Bespicold Syrup Cough – 3 times a day when you have coughing tendency.
Steam Inhalation is considered to be extremely useful in times like this because it damages the capsid of SARS-coV-2 and prevents infections
Pulse oximeters should also be kept handy. You can check 3 times in a day. The normal saturation of blood in a healthy individual is between 95% and 100.
FOOD THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN
- Take rich protein diet & fruits (Avoid cold fruits)
- Drink milk with turmeric in the night. III. Eat Walnut & Anjeer & 2 Eggs
- Eat fresh and unprocessed foods
- Drink enough water every day
Other things to keep in mind
- Eat moderate amounts of vii. Eat less salt and sugar fat and oil
- Avoid reading and listening more about Covid-19. Be positive
- Average recovery time is 10-14 days. Get another RT-PCR test after two weeks after detection.
- No need for immediate CT Scan of lungs’ if the patient is fine.
- Patient having CT value (refer to RT-PCR report) between 24-35 Less CT value more infectious.
- Get your family members also tested.
- Take full rest and read good and positive books/news/articles during the isolation.
If you’re a caregiver and not the covid patient yourself,
You must take good care of yourself apart from the infected person. To do that, you should add vitamin C rich foods to your daily diet. Also, eat zinc and vitamin A containing food items. Do not forget to keep hydrating yourself. This will improve your immunity.
